Apple Crisp

โ€ข  Preheat the oven to 375ยฐF.

โ€ข  In a small bowl, mix the sugar (not the brown sugar!), cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice.  Set aside until ready to use.

โ€ข  Place the sliced apples into a 9ร—13 inch non-stick baking dish.  It will look like too many apples, but they will cook down, so donโ€™t worry about a heaping pile.

โ€ข  Using a spoon, spread the mixture of sugar / spices over the top of the apples as evenly as you can.

โ€ข  In a medium bowl, add the flour, brown sugar, and butter.  Use a pastry cutter (or a fork, if you donโ€™t have a cutter) to work the butter into the flour and brown sugar.  It should make a crumbly mixture with bits of butter that are coated in the flour/sugar and arenโ€™t very big.  This will be the crunchy topping.

โ€ข  Take the topping and spread it evenly over the top of the apples.

โ€ข  Bake for 45 minutes.
