Apple Crisp
Introduction
This one feels like home!ย Warm, sweet apples with a crunchy top.ย And I always like to have a scoop of vanillaย ice creamย on the side.ย You can also make some whipped cream, too.ย It will take some time to peel, cut, and core all the apples, so I do recommend a helping hand!ย Donโt worry if the apple slices start to oxidize before you finish.

Ingredients
12ย ย granny smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced thin
1ย ย ย cup sugar
1ย ย cup all purpose flour
ยผ ย ย cup brown sugar, packed
ยฝ ย ย cupย butter, cold but not frozen
1ย ย tsp. cinnamon
ยฝย ย tsp. nutmeg
ยฝย ย tsp. allspice
Instructions
โข Preheat the oven to 375ยฐF.
โข In a small bowl, mix the sugar (not the brown sugar!), cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Set aside until ready to use.
โข Place the sliced apples into a 9ร13 inch non-stick baking dish. It will look like too many apples, but they will cook down, so donโt worry about a heaping pile.
โข Using a spoon, spread the mixture of sugar / spices over the top of the apples as evenly as you can.
โข In a medium bowl, add the flour, brown sugar, and butter. Use a pastry cutter (or a fork, if you donโt have a cutter) to work the butter into the flour and brown sugar. It should make a crumbly mixture with bits of butter that are coated in the flour/sugar and arenโt very big. This will be the crunchy topping.
โข Take the topping and spread it evenly over the top of the apples.
โข Bake for 45 minutes.
