Going Vegan Has Never Been So Easy

Garlic Bread

Introduction

Most breads are already vegan, but double-check because some might contain butter or milk (like sourdough).ย  For this, I usually default to an Italian loaf, but you can use whatever your favorite happens to be.ย  It is also difficult for me to specify amounts of the ingredients here, because I have no idea how large your loaf of bread will be.ย  So youโ€™ll need to use your best judgement on this one.ย  Brazil nuts have a parmesan-like flavor, so if you canโ€™t find any grated parmesan, you can grind up some Brazil nuts for a pretty good substitute.

Total Time: 20 to 30 minutes

Ingredients

Instructions

โ€ข  Preheat the oven to 400ยฐF.

โ€ข  Slice the loaf of bread horizontally length-wise, creating two long, flat pieces.

โ€ข  Spread butter on each piece.

โ€ข  Sprinkle the ground nuts or parmesan cheese over the slices as evenly as you can.

โ€ข  Sprinkle the onion powder, garlic powder, and parsley over the slices as well.

โ€ข  For the paprika, sprinkle very sparingly.  Paprika is a strong spice, so you donโ€™t need very much.

โ€ข  I like my bread just a little crunchy on top while still soft in the middle, so I recommend baking for 12-13 minutes.  If you like a crunchier bread, you can leave it in for longer or use the broiler for 3-5 minutes with the bread in the middle rack (but keep an eye on it so it doesnโ€™t burn!).

โ€ข  When done, slice into pieces.
